2290 - Heavy Vehicle Use Tax

The 2290 Heavy Vehicle Use Tax is required for vehicles with a GVWR of 55,000lbs or greater.

The 2290 tax period begins each year on July 1st and must be renewed annually. It is used to calculate and report the excise tax owed on highway motor vehicles. The purpose of the tax is to help fund the construction and maintenance of the nation's public highway system.

Upon checkout you will be sent an email requesting the information required for us to complete the filing. After filing, our Legal department will notify you the total amount due for the current tax period. This will be a separate charge paid to the IRS based on the information you provide during the filing process.
